Why do people against SAME SEX marriage, compare it to marrying children and animals?

Seriously! I have heard this argument over and over when the debate about same sex marriage is discussed and, sure enough, someone compares it to marrying and having sex with children or animals.

I don't get the comparison or validity.

Can anyone explain the logic to me and what they think?
