Jimmer Fredette's unlikely path to becoming a star
My dad was the first to tell me about Jimmer Fredette. We were driving on the New York State Thruway. He was chauffeuring me to a job interview at the Glens Falls Post-Star, about 45 minutes north of my hometown in upstate New York.

More sheriff oversight Mayor Nutter yesterday announced an effort to ensure more oversight of the embattled Sheriff's Office. Officials from Nutter's finance, law and technology departments will work with the Sheriff's Office to ensure that it is complying with city rules for contracting and fiscal oversight. And a nine-member advisory board will be appointed to propose new rules for the sheriff.
